Dr. Alyssa Lau was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Loyola Marymount University and her Doctorate of Optometry from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Lau was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and was an avid volunteer with LightHouse for the Blind.

While in optometry school, Dr. Lau has trained at various community clinics in the Bay Area/Marin County and also trained at the Veterans Affairs clinic in Honolulu. Dr. Lau has experience in working with opthalmology where she learned some of the latest technology for dry eye treatment including intense pulsed light therapy and fitting amniotic membrane lenses.

Dr. Lau enjoys the outdoors and likes to spend her time hiking, camping, and trying new hobbies. Being a former dance instructor, she now enjoys doing barre/pilates. As a new resident of the Bay Area, she is always looking for local restaurants to try.
