April is Sports Eye Safety Month. With the great spring weather and the ability to get out in public again, here are a few sports eye safety tips for keeping your kid’s vision safe while playing sports.

Why Do Your Kids need Protection?

Blindness from eye injuries are a leading cause of blindness in kids who play sports! The simple solution is wearing the right protective eyewear to help prevent sports related eye injuries.

Protective  Eyewear

Proper protective eyewear is made from ultra strong polycarbonate,  an impact resistant plastic that also protects eyes from UV light. Different types of protective eyewear for sports include safety goggles, face guards and eyewear designed for specific sports.

Using Protective Eyewear

Be sure to wear while practicing or playing sports such as:

  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Fencing
  • Hockey
  • Paintball
  • Racketball or Squash
  • Mountain Biking
